A few years ago local NHS chiefs were considering moving some health services away from Woking; the future of our local community hospital itself was potentially at stake. However, the hospital has been rising to all challenges and has proved itself an absolutely vital health hub for the area.
After many months of discussion with myself and other stakeholders, this decision to install an important new diagnostic centre at Woking Community Hospital secures its future and enhances its services. It will mean fewer trips to Ashford & St. Peter's for Woking patients and give top diagnostic care.
This new facility will be state of the art and bring additional diagnostics to the hospital including computerised tomography (CT), magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), cardiac testing, respiratory testing, adult audiology, blood testing, bone density (dexa) scanning, as well as expanding the ultrasound capacity. This additional facility is scheduled to open in late summer next year.
This is a great outcome for our community and it also ties in with my campaign to secure better transport links for those who still need to travel to Ashford & St. Peter's facilities outside of Woking.
The quality and breadth of NHS provision within the Woking area is always at the top of my agenda. If you have any comments on this proposal or others please let me know by email at Jonathan.Lord.firstname.lastname@example.org
