Protecting and enhancing Woking’s environment is a TOP priority for Jonathan.

Jonathan voted against the government in October 2021 to ensure that tougher action would be taken to tackle sewage overflows and was successful in lobbying the government to take effective steps to bring sewage discharges to an end. You can read more on Jonathan's record of action here

On protecting Woking’s greenbelt, Jonathan has a record of action to stand up for residents and was even presented a petition to Parliament on behalf of residents to save Woking’s green belt. Jonathan was a firm in his opposition to the removal of the green belt in Byfleet and West Byfleet – you can view his comments here.

Jonathan Lord MP attends climate debate

Last Friday, Jonathan Lord MP took part in a debate on climate change, chaired by Bronwen Smith-Thomas, Senior Campaigns Manager at WWF UK. 

The debate was organised by members of WEAct (Woking Environment Action) as part of Woking Great Big Green Week.
