Safeguarding our environment

Protecting and enhancing Woking’s environment is a TOP priority for Jonathan.

Jonathan voted against the government in October 2021 to ensure that tougher action would be taken to tackle sewage overflows and was successful in lobbying the government to take effective steps to bring sewage discharges to an end. You can read more on Jonathan's record of action here

On protecting Woking’s greenbelt, Jonathan has a record of action to stand up for residents and was even presented a petition to Parliament on behalf of residents to save Woking’s green belt. Jonathan was a firm in his opposition to the removal of the green belt in Byfleet and West Byfleet – you can view his comments here.

Jonathan stood up at Prime Minister's Questions and raised the importance of protecting our green spaces - particularly in light of the proposed development at West Hall which proposals 461 homes without sufficient infrastructure provision.
